Nine Ways to Get a Quick Bite with Your Meal Swipes

We know the start of the semester can be chaotic. Figuring out how long it takes to get to classes, catching up with friends and settling into the new year can leave you scrambling without time to think about where to eat. Find out where you can use your meal swipes to fuel up and recharge your mind and body when you don’t have a lot of time to spare.

1. Catch the Lunch Bus.

Ride the CityBus Gold or Silver loops that drop off at Earhart and Hillenbrand. Each bus is a 10-minute round trip (five minutes each way) from academic campus. Find out where to catch each bus here.

2. Check out The Daily Bite Food Truck.

Purdue’s official food truck is located on the corner of Russell and Third Street during lunch, Monday through Friday, and outside Ford Dining Court during dinner, Monday through Thursday. One meal swipe gets you a drink, chicken or brisket, waffles or a biscuit, coleslaw and mac & cheese. Check it out during lunch or dinner!

3. Dig in to a food bowl at 1bowl.

1bowl @ Meredith allows you to build your own food bowl from its selection of global flavors. Meatball, breakfast, macaroni and cheese, chicken shawarma, grains bowls and vegan/vegetarian friendly dishes are just some of the options you will find on the menu. Build your bowl to your taste and add a drink for a meal swipe during lunch Monday through Friday or dinner Monday through Thursday!

4. Take a Pizza to Go at Pete’s Za.

What’s better than pizza? Pete’s Za serves up freshly baked 12-inch pizzas ready to go! Take a pizza for your meal and enjoy the leftovers later. Pete’s Za offers a vegan cheese for our plant-based and non-dairy pals, plus gluten-free crust options. You can even substitute a salad for pizza. Grab your gang and get some grub!

5. Grab Take-Out at Hillenbrand.

Fill up a reusable box at Hillenbrand and take it to go Monday through Friday! Paying $5 gets you access to take-out containers for the whole year. Swipe in with the cashier, leave your Purdue ID, fill up with anything on the Hillenbrand menu, get your ID and go! Be sure to bring your reusable cup from move-in for a drink. Bring your used containers back later to exchange for a clean container or a token you can use when you need it!

6.  Get your meal On-The-Go! from Earhart, Ford or Windsor.

On-The-Go! is a carry-out option located next to these three dining courts for when you’re in a hurry. Hot and cold sandwiches, salads, snacks and drinks are all available, plus free fountain drink refills with your reusable cup! You can even use up to three swipes in one visit if you need to get a couple of meals to go.

7. Visit a new On-The-Go! location in Knoy or Lilly Hall.

On-The-Go’s are expanding this year to Knoy and Lilly halls. Whether you’re on the Engineering Mall, near Northwestern or on the South side of campus, you can grab a full meal and bottled drink while on the run in-between classes.
