This week we had the chance to interview Student Manager Jeremey Ramsook at the Central Production Kitchen for Boilers of Dining! He’s currently a sophomore majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Where are you from Jeremy?
I’m from Terre Haute, Indiana. It’s about two hours south from Purdue.
Glad to have you here! What made you decide to work at the Central Production Kitchen or CPK?
Funny story, I didn’t apply to CPK but my mom did! I’m glad she did because I really enjoy it here.
Looks like mom does always know best! So what do you do as a Student Manager?
I’m in charge of student associates, student cooks, supervisors in training, and supervisors too. That includes everyone in CPK, 1Bowl, and the new academic On-the-Go locations.
You sound like a busy man Jeremy. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the fact that we have such a close-knit team that we almost feel like a family. All my coworkers are amazing!
Awww, that’s so sweet! What’s your favorite item to make at work?
It’d have to be the salami protein packs because I can’t wait to get them at OTG for myself!
That sounds good! What is something you learned from working in PD&C that surprised you?
In order to be successful, you have to communicate, encourage, and support each other.
Wow so philosophical. On another point, what do you like to do outside of work?
When I am not at work, I enjoy playing volleyball and hanging out with my friends.
Don’t we all. What about your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is a tie between Lion King and the first Shrek movie.
Interesting picks! How about your ideal travel destination?
Hands down Australia. I’m considering studying abroad there.
Another great pick! Now last question, if you had the power to change the world, what would you do?
I would get rid of all the negativity in the world. I feel like there is too much of it nowadays and it’s impossible to solve issues if people cannot get along or communicate their concerns.
If more people thought like you Jeremy there would probably be world peace by now. Thank you for being a great employee to Purdue Dining and helping feed our community!
Have an amazing weekend Boilermakers!
