Rachel Nellett is a Junior at Purdue studying Public Relations and Strategic Communications. She’s been working at Windsor Dining Court since the fall semester of her freshman year! Rachel’s official titles are Student Manager and Student HR Manager in Training. These jobs require that she manages supervisors, orientates new students, and deals with promotions. She believes that she is lucky to be surrounded by such great people while working!
What was your favorite day on the job?
“We do camping trips for supervisors. Those weekends are my favorite. We just have a really fun time”.
What has been your most impactful Purdue experience so far?
“I was given the role of Student Manager as a freshman. I feel like I’ve grown a lot because of it.” Rachel believes she also owes her success to the strong leadership of people like Stephanie Packer and Tim Nichols. She feels that they helped her understand how to handle interpersonal conflicts and lead.
What would you like to be known for?
“I would like to be known for the work I’ve done as a Student Manager. I raised the bar of accountability, made a student supervisor manual, and encouraged students to take on leadership roles. When I become a Student Manager, I hope to bridge the gap between supervisors and associates”
If you could invite four famous people to dinner, who would it be?
“I’d invite the Beatles. I’d want them to sing to me.”
What is a fun fact about yourself?
“I own 31 pairs of converse”

“Tik Tok by Kesha. I hear it and I don’t know why.”
