Boiler of Dining – Delaney Clark

fullsizerender (1)

This week, we got to sit down with Delaney Clark! Delaney is a Hospitality and Tourism Management major from Indianapolis, Indiana. She has spent the past two year working for Dining & Catering with Student Success.

So Delaney, you said you work for Student Success. What does that mean, exactly?

It means I do a bunch of stuff! Mostly, I coordinate training events for PD&C student employees on campus. I also deal with a lot of data and I’m creating a dietetic internship with PD&C. My team hosts student appreciation events and we do job recruitment and talk about meal plans with incoming freshman. I also get to participate in advisory boards.

Wow, that sounds busy! But also like a lot of fun! Now for some juicy questions.

If you could live anywhere on this planet and take everything that you love with you, where would you choose to live?

Phoenix, Arizona because I like the desert and mountains and it’s gorgeous! you can wake up everyday and see the sunrise across the mountains! Can you even imagine?

What are your hobbies?

Outdoor activities that keep me moving, like hiking. I have a passion for nutrition, learning about other cultures, and watching documentaries.

What event do you remember most fondly from high school?

I went on a vacation to california – san francisco, san diego, and LA – and its the farthest west I’ve ever gone. I love experiencing west coast culture and everything feels different there! It was really fun to compare the west and east coasts. It showed me how much I love the west coast!

What do you enjoy in your favorite breakfast that you make at home?

Avocado toast and a soy latte. That’s my jam.

If you had the opportunity to adopt a pet, what kind of a pet would you get and why?

A border collie because they have a huge heart and loving personality and they can be your best friend.

Thanks for sharing, Delaney! Is there anything else you want the Purdue community to know?

No matter where you are in life right now, it’s important! No matter what place you’re in now, you mean something and you matter.

Now that’s the daily inspiration we needed! Thanks so much for talking to us this week, Delaney! We always love hearing about the unique jobs that exist in PD&C.

Happy Friday, Boilers!
